What happens after being granted asylum status?

Three young refugees from Syria tell us their stories.

“The biggest obstacle remains the language. I wanted to attend a German course at the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF). I was then forwarded to the Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS), where I was again told to contact the ÖIF as the courses were already fully booked. I am wondering, where should we learn German then?” says Abdullah Kayali. German courses only, however, do not suffice as what was learned has to be exercised, as well. “Unfortunately, it is also not easy here to just approach people in the street and talk to them” states Ammar Balleh. For Syrian refugees there is little opportunity to practically apply the learned.             For more information go to:
